5 Things that Shot Us onto Inc. Magazine’s ‘Best Workplaces’ List

Who ya gonna call? If you’re ready to apply cutting edge tech to the most challenging problems, the answer is EvolutionIQ – pictured above at our Puerto Rico 2022 offsite!

We’re honored that Inc. magazine just named EvolutionIQ to its prestigious “Best Workplaces 2022” list. The judges took a comprehensive measurement of American companies with both exceptional working environments and cultures that thrive in the face of adversity and foster employee growth.

They surveyed employees on wide-ranging topics such as management, perks, fostering employee growth, and culture. But we wanted to take a step back and show you why the EvolutionIQ team was so upbeat and passionate about our company. Here are the top five reasons:

1: We’re Inventors & Transformation Architects
We’ve created a medical recovery artificial intelligence system that plows through billions of data points, finds hidden patterns and predicts new ones, and then makes recommendations to human experts on optimal actions. “Nobody has solved this before,” says Tomas Vykruta, our CEO and co-founder. “We are inventing this key methodology for managing bodily injury claims that never existed. We’re not iterating on some solution and making it better. We’re creating a tech new category.”

2: The Lure of Solving Previously Impossible Problems
The $1.6 trillion insurance industry is one of the largest, most data-rich industries that is totally underserved by advanced technology. In particular, it has had difficulty applying artificial intelligence at scale to the extremely complex area of bodily injury and medical recovery. Our experts have been drawn to insurance because they want to crack the industry’s big data problem – one in which human claims examiners typically have more than 150 cases, each running hundreds of pages in length and filled with overlapping medical notes that draw on more than 70,000 medical codes. “It requires almost a doctor’s level of expertise to understand the context of these cases – and new data is being added every day,” Tom explains.

3: Partnerships Matter to Us
We are obsessed with making our customers extraordinarily successful. We do it by focusing on technology change management for our clients via a rapid and continuous client feedback loop. Our experts help customers apply new insights as the software itself learns from new patterns it discovers through its daily reviews. Importantly, each person at EvolutionIQ focuses on the business impact of their work and has a clear line of sight into the direct value they bring to our clients. This same spirit of partnership is also a critical part of how EvolutionIQ works with our internal colleagues for ongoing professional development. Just as our teams bring a “‘think like a CEO” mindset to each customer engagement – taking ownership of the outcomes as if they were the owner – that same mindset allows colleagues to take control of development and training opportunities as their careers progress.

4. Avengers Assemble!
To tackle the insurance industry’s challenges we’ve brought together experts with more than 100 years of combined insurance industry experience with one of the greatest AI teams in the industry – with our engineers coming from Bloomberg, Google, Facebook, Amazon and others on the cutting edge of tech. “With our distinct fusion experts, we have created a workplace that combines the best aspects of start-up culture speed, creativity and problem-solving with the insurance industry’s best traits of deliberation, customer-focus, and exacting attention to detail,” said EvolutionIQ’s Head of People & Recruiting Anna Howell. “We are currently in the process of doubling the size of our team and we can’t wait to see the X-factor that the next group of thinkers, creators, and doers bring to what is already an exciting, collaborative and hyper-motivated mix.”

5. Making Tracks
It’s fun to create and exciting to be first in a new tech category – but at the end of the day success in the business world is about making a measurable impact. That’s why we define ourselves as a product led technology company – not a consulting or research company. We build products in a very deliberate way that is directly tied to business value and impact. After being launched just three years ago, EvolutionIQ is now the most rapidly adopted claims guidance platform in insurance industry with seven of the 15 top Disability carriers and third-party administrators as customers, solid recurring revenue from our ongoing client engagements, international expansion underway, new products being launched, and investors who are insurtech veterans and industry-leading strategic investors.
